Claims

We believe that the ultimate test of any insurance programme is the ability to provide a consistent and efficient level of service in the event of a claim, and therefore make the handling of claims our number one priority ensuring that these are handled seriously and professionally. We actively participate to co-ordinate the efforts of the Customer, Insurer, Loss Adjuster and Legal Representative in order to ensure an effective claims settlement procedure.

Motor Claims

All motor claims should follow these steps listed below to ensure your claim can be accepted, speed up processing and ensure your claim is managed efficiently.

Step 1. Notification

In case you are involved in an accident you are kindly requested to notify us immediately of this by completing this claim form and sending it to agency@muia.com.mt or you can call us on 22067000 or visit our offices at 17 Market Street Floriana or one of our intermediaries.

Step 2. Documentation

Please find below a list of the documentation which should be forwarded to our offices together with your completed claim form

Copy of the driver’s driving license.
Copy of front to rear form, if applicable.
Warden report number.
Photos of accident or site of accident, if available.
Police report, if applicable.

You can attach these documents to the claim form and send them to our offices by post or email to agency@muia.com.mt. MUIA reserves the right to request any additional information and/or documentation as deemed necessary.

Step 3. Policy Excess Payment

Your motor policy usually carries an excess, which is the first amount you are liable to pay to enable us to process your claim. You can pay the applicable excess by sending a cheque payable to MelitaUnipol Insurance Agency Ltd. You can also call directly at our offices and pay by cash, debit or credit card. Alternatively you can settle the amount due through internet banking. Before effecting payment it is important that you confirm the excess amount due with our offices.

Home Claims

All home claims should follow these steps listed below to ensure your claim can be accepted, speed up processing and ensure your claim is managed efficiently.

Step 1. Notification

If you would like to lodge a home claim you are kindly requested to notify us immediately of your loss/damage by completing and returning this claim form and sending it to agency@muia.com.mt or you can call us on 22067119 or visit our offices at 17 Market Street Floriana.

Step 2. Documentation

In the event of loss or damage you must:
Provide at your own expense all the information and help we need.
Retain all damaged items for us to view, test or inspect.
Take photographs as necessary to prove your loss/damage.
Tell the police immediately about any property which has been lost, stolen or maliciously damaged.
Do all you reasonably can to recover any lost or stolen property.
Provide details of any third parties which could be involved in the loss/damages you have suffered.
Forward us immediately and unanswered any legal documents served on you in connection with any claim for legal liability arising from injury or damage.
Not discuss, admit, reject or negotiate any claim with anyone else without our written permission.
Always act as if you are uninsured to try and minimise the loss as much as possible.

All Other Claims

All other claims should follow these steps listed below to ensure your claim can be accepted, speed up processing and ensure your claim is managed efficiently.

Step 2. Documentation

In the event of loss or damage you must:
